The variety of Ruththirakkam

Ruththirakkam is of many kinds as the seeds contain from 16 faces to one face each type of it is blessed by different. The colours of Ruththirakkams are black, ash, and brown. The Ruththirakkam chain must be made of the same kind of balls. The other names of Ruththirakkam are:- Kanndy, Akku, Kanmani, Sivamani, Thaalvadam holy taken etc.

Thakku Maalai Konda Ankaiyil Ennuvar

Nakka Naama Namachchivaayavae”

Ruththirakka Tharanam

This means to proper time when one should wear Ruththirakkam. The tree is as follows:- Siva Poosai Santhiyavanthanam, Thiruvasaga Parayanam, Puranapadanam, Sivan temples worship etc. One must avoide wearing the same during path, and other impure periods.
